Meet Tiffany

Lifelong Educator.

Centering Marginalized Voices. Prioritizing Accountability.

Education has been Tiffany's first love since college. She began her career as an elementary teacher, where she recognized the critical need for social-emotional learning. That led her to earn a Master’s in Counseling focused on school and professional settings. As a school counselor at both the primary and secondary levels, she has supported the holistic needs of students.

After her time in education, she has worked in agencies and founded private therapy practices in Texas and Washington, DC, with a mission to support marginalized communities in their mental health journeys. She later earned her Doctorate of Education from Johns Hopkins University and returned to higher education. Now a professor at George Washington University, she trains the next generation of therapists and leads an educational platform offering community workshops on systemic injustice and tangible calls to action.

She believes deeply in her work, but even more in the people she serves. As your school board member, she will bring the mind of a therapist, the drive of a mom, and the heart of a lifelong educator.

In her downtime, Tiffany enjoys time with her three children, ages 10, 5, and 3, who attend school in Montgomery County, as well as reading and coffee with friends.

Integrity in Action.

WHAT I'M ADVOCATING FOR

Follow Through on Budget Transparency

Every child deserves an education that meets their needs. Families of students who receive special education services have faced far too many barriers. When we support our most vulnerable, we strengthen schools for everyone.

As your next School Board Member At Large, I will ensure inclusion, access, and respect guide all decisions we make.

Expand Mental Health Support for students and families

Mental health is no longer a crisis we can ignore - 58% of Maryland students say they struggle with mental health. Suicide is now the 3rd leading cause of death for Maryland youth. These aren't just statistics; they are our students.

As your next School Board Member At Large, I will make mental health a priority.

Save Wootton High School

The closure of Wootton High School is just one of many schools slated to close for renovations in the upcoming years. Relocating students to different schools impacts graduation rates, attendance, discipline, and social emotional health. Additionally it increases student teacher ratios, which makes for a more chaotic learning environment. We need to find better options than complete school closures of not only Wootton, but other high schools on the docket.

ENDORSEMENTS

"I can confidently I would not have achieved what I have today without her guidance, mentorship, and unwavering belief in me. Her dedication, leadership, and passion make her exceptionally qualified to serve on the school board."
-Matthew Jackson, former 3rd grade student

She prioritized our mental health and well-being, often reminding us that we matter more than any assignment or grade. Dr. Wicks embodies the kind of leadership our schools need — compassionate, knowledgeable, forward thinking, and student-centered.

-Revati Deshpande, former graduate student

"In a time when we need progress most, it's time to say I'm willing to be the change-maker; instead of hoping someone else will come along."
